Sure you troll the net, often looking up silly shit that often sucks up more time than you like to admit, but do you ever go looking for resources that can help you grow?  I’m in the Video Marketing business, so when I have the time, I do a number of different keyword searches to see what’s out there. Today, I caught something in the net that was worth bookmarking.

What I found was a series of great how-to seminars for small business people available in video, on demand and for free. Even if you work for a company, if you are in sales you are a small business person. Think like a business owner. Invest in your own sales business with constant education. NOTHING is more valuable than know how!

Here is the website I found. Bookmark it, and pick out the videos that interest you and SCHEDULE viewing time into your calendar. If you don’t do this step, the likelyhood is the videos will remain a bookmark instead of part of your knowledge.

You Knew This Was Coming Guys…

Uh-oh… You knew it was coming didn’t you? I just cannot resist! Every major holiday, I have to make my traditional “Strange But True” post! Sorry guys! You’ll just have to grin and bear it. :)

Ok, since Thanksgiving is but 1 day away, let’s proceed with today’s special facts. This time, it’s coming at you with a twist! I just stumbled across a fun little “quiz” that I think you might enjoy. How much do you really know about Thanksgiving, turkeys, and the like? Haha… Time to find out! Today I’d like to share a little tip with you that has helped me out a lot. This would fall into the mortgage lead generation category. We’re all busy right? No one would argue that point. But don’t you often find that sometimes you feel like you’re working a LOT, and very little is getting done?

I hate that feeling, so I did something about it. I created a little sheet for myself, Monday – Friday. At the beginning of each week I spent about 30 minutes writing down the most important money making activities I could participate in. These were labeled as PRIORITY 1.

So Here’s What Happened…

So my blog was hacked… Yep, someone decided it would be lots of fun to break into Unleashed and start deleting important files. Hard as I try, I just cannot seem to imagine deriving any form of enjoyment from destroying other peoples hard work. (Unless of course they cut me off in traffic… Naaah – Not even then!)

Regardless, I had IT logged in yesterday taking care of the site, and rebuilding that all important infrastructure. So we’re not back to 100%, but we’re darn close! Thing is, I felt so bad depriving all of you of this wonderful blog even for a day!  :)

Week is almost over with guys! What have you done to make it great? Don’t dwell on the setbacks, ignore what you think you “don’t want to do” and reset your thought process to make this week great! 2 days is PLENTY of time to make something wonderful happen! Challenge yourself to meet a high producer between now and tomorrow.

Pick up the phone and call some past clients…. Do SOMETHING to make today anything but “ordinary.” Ordinary doesn’t pay!

Mortgage Marketing – Work? What’s That?

 

 

I was speaking to a group of about 500 loan officers recently, and I was startled by some of hte murmuring I heard in the audience. I had just detailed a very specific marekting plan that could easily put you in touch with, impress the heck out of, and ultimately build a relationship with the highest producing realtors in your market.

The kicker? This marketing plan could do all of this to multiple agents at once! After I had finished wrapping up the plan, I heard a few people whispering to their neighbors: “Wow – that sounds like alot of work!”

This really got to me. I know it shouldn’t have, but I keep hearing similar phrases from loan officers… The very same loan officers who tell me they are dead broke, and need to make money fast… Yet the one thing they focus on is whether or not something will be a lot of work? Well HELLO! Would you want it any other way?

We talk a lot about WHAT to put in a video to keep them wanting more and how to avoid sending crap that results in your videos to cease being viewed, and the most consistent strategy is value.
