As you can tell I have been a bit eratic in posting here of late. Let me come clean. I am kind of moving on. Not from Chad! He and I will continue to collaborate on projects. No I am moving onward in my career and expanding my focus to small business at large. Since 2005 I have trained, spoken and consulted to the mortgage industry. From 200o-2005 I had the most profitable years of my life as a Mortgage Broker. I am proud of the people I worked with (for the most part very few scumbags) and proud that my start as a speaker, trainer and soon to be author was in the mortgage lending industry. But I am also proud that my voice is reaching a wider audience and my lifes work will affect small business people both in and out of the real estate industry. So thank you.
Now you’re in small business, right? So, hopefully I will still be working on things that you are interested in. But let’s be honest, there are only a certain amount of hours in the day that one can blog, and develop content and so on. So I will leave Loan Officer Unleashed in the capable hands of Chad Weber who continues to make success stories out of loan officers. Even in this very market!

Welcome to 2009! As I struggle to retrain my tiny brain to write 09 instead of 08, I eagerly look forward to what this year will bring! I hope all of you are putting together a solid marketing plan. I know it seems to be the same song and dance year after year, but what are you going to do differently this year?
I want you to take some time and examine your current situation and ask a tough question. That question is “Why?” Why am I in this situation? What behaviors, habits, and events have worked together to land me into my current situation - be it good or bad?
Straight answers work best here, even if it’s not what you want to hear or admit. I’ll give you a little peak into a few of these “self chats” I’ve had with myself. I put everything on paper or into files on my PC, so I can always go back and find my habits. Here’s one from a few years back:

So Here’s What Happened…
So my blog was hacked… Yep, someone decided it would be lots of fun to break into Unleashed and start deleting important files. Hard as I try, I just cannot seem to imagine deriving any form of enjoyment from destroying other peoples hard work. (Unless of course they cut me off in traffic… Naaah - Not even then!)
Regardless, I had IT logged in yesterday taking care of the site, and rebuilding that all important infrastructure. So we’re not back to 100%, but we’re darn close! Thing is, I felt so bad depriving all of you of this wonderful blog even for a day!
Week is almost over with guys! What have you done to make it great? Don’t dwell on the setbacks, ignore what you think you “don’t want to do” and reset your thought process to make this week great! 2 days is PLENTY of time to make something wonderful happen! Challenge yourself to meet a high producer between now and tomorrow.
Pick up the phone and call some past clients…. Do SOMETHING to make today anything but “ordinary.” Ordinary doesn’t pay!

In fact, now that I say that - THIS IS a post about video marketing, because good video marketing has everything to do with the VALUE you are sending in the video. We talk a lot about WHAT to put in a video to keep them wanting more and how to avoid sending crap that results in your videos to cease being viewed, and the most consistent strategy is value.
